Bernd Wittchow
is from former Eastern Germany, and after the Wall came down was elected as a known Christian candidate as mayor of his town. He serves on the perspectivforum on disability for the German Evangelical Alliance.
He is the Managing Director of Oak Mühle Brandenburg eV, a social-
therapeutic facility for the treatment of addictions in Hermersdorf that is founded on Christian values of social support and participation.
Bernd, a paraplegic after an accident, works personally with people who are handicapped by mental and physical addictions.
Berndt will address the plenary session at HOPE•II on the topic 'Enabling one another', raising general awareness of the needs of Europe's 70 milllion handicapped in both church and society. He will also be involved in the Disabilities ministry network consultation in Hotel Thermal.
